Plot and song list - parody project fall 2012 - this blog updated Jan. 8

The plot we've been using to date to give you an idea:

CROLL DOWN PAST THE SONG LIST FOR LYRICS AND  SCENE SAMPLES.

NOTE TO PERFORMERS WHO WANT TO USE THE PARODY LYRICS INDIVIDUALLY:  MOST OF THE PARODY LYRICS HAVE APPEARED ONLINE BEFORE, SO FEEL FREE TO USE THEM, AND JUST LET ME KNOW HOW THEY WENT OVER!

You can write to me - aol address DYLAN43RD - for an  in-progress PDF of where the script is now;  even though the plot takes place at the height of the economy shakedown in 2010-2011.  we hope the show will be the type that keeps updating and updating if it's successful.
THESE REVISED VERSIONS ARE MORE UP TO DATE.  HOWEVER, IT IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL WITH ME TO USE THE OLDER  VERSIONS YOU HAVE FROM ELSEWHERE IN PERFORMANCES IF YOUR VENUE HAS CLEARANCE (SUCH AS BMI OR ASCAP) FOR THE MUSIC.)

BASIC PLOT:  in difficult economic times 2010 - Theater Squawk at the height of the financial crisis tries to raise money. As with Broadway, everyone complains about hard times, but Michael and Susan know the game:  give them big names, wallets open!  Michael's Aunt (who he never knew) leaves both Susan and Michael and the show enough money to keep "Theater Squawk" running for the next 20 years, but it's contingent on Michael gaining forgiveness of at least 5 of the 6 "targets" who would no longer talk to him after he ripped them in the paper,  If Susan and Michael can get them on their TV program, and to sit through the full interview without walking out, Theater Squawk gets the $2,000,000 to run the next 20 years!  And the kicker they have to do it before Spider-Man recoups!  They try to scope out which five to target, and they settle on the sixth as a wild card.
But of course they get the five interviews AND the will money!
And the "Aunt" turns out to be a theater loving "Harvey Fierstein type" very much alive and happy to have foundation money to support education through a TV non-profit!
                                    5 people, plus whatever music
Michael Needle (Riedel)  and Susan Asking (Haskins)
plus 3 people (2 women, 1 man) , and a pianist who play:  parodies of - -"Patti LuPone","Patti LaBelle", "Lea Michele", "Jerry Herman", "Susan Boyle",  "Mandy Patinkin", "Bette Midler", "KathleenTurner" & Funny Girl Fanny search winner "Betty Mae Nobody" {& Lady Gaga?); as well as:

The six "targets" as described in the plot [can change, somewhat modular] who at the top no longer talk to Michael:(they have to convince five to appear on the TV show)

The star of  A Little Bright Music - Stritch
The producers of Thomas's Promises -
The star of The Merchandise of Venice - Al Pacino
The main backers of Sunny Girl, who blame him for the show falling apart
